Course Syllabus
Course Description:
The Online Orientation is designed to introduce students to Florida Poly's learning management system, Canvas. The orientation will also provide the learner with information and guidance related to Florida Polytechnic Unversity services and provide the learner with the basic principles of online tools. Each of these modules and activities are presented with the purpose of preparing you for a successful academic experience as a Florida Poly online student.
Course Overview:
The course covers the following topics:
- How to use Canvas;
- Principles of Online Learning;
- Survey and Reflections.
Course Objectives:
In completing this orientation course, learners will:
- Navigate the Canvas learning management system;
- Learn to utilize the following Canvas tools:
- Discussion forums,
- Assignments,
- Quizzes,
- Grades,
- Review media on online learning to prepare for the online learning environment;
- Navigate the support resources provided for students:
Course Logistics
As with many on-line courses, this course is organized in modules and is designed to be completed in days time. The course is self-paced, so you may do as much or as little as you'd like at a time.
