Spill Clean-up
Lab Personnel are expected to respond to small, incidental spills of chemicals as long as:
- He/she has knowledge of the chemical’s physical and health hazards.
- The spill does not involve highly toxic, reactive or multiple chemicals where the reaction by-products are unknown
- The clean up procedures are not known or appropriate materials are not readily available.
- For larger spills contact the trained emergency responder from your area for advice on whether to call 911
- Call 911 for any spills resulting in accidents or uncontrollable releases/reactions.
