Cybersecurity Lab - Certification Primers -SP18
This primers series will serve as an introduction to the various certification options available for cybersecurity professionals, as well as provide hands-on experience working with some of the basic concepts and topics covered in those certifications. The series will cover the advantages, as well the disadvantages, of pursing certifications as a way to enter or advance a career in cybersecurity, as well as the various domains of knowledge within those certification exams. The majority of the sessions will focus on the CompTIA Security+ certification materials, but may also draw on more specific materials and resources for certain topics (such as Cisco for network security).
The goal of the primers series is to have attendees aware of the options available, as well as encouraging them to study for, and eventually obtain, their own security certifications.
