Software Request Best Practices-3
When requesting software please give IT ample time to fulfill your request. We will try our best to facilitate your need, but please be aware of a few points.
1. New software must be approved by Procurement and/or Legal. This generally takes anywhere from 7-10 business days.
2. IT must test and package the software to push to classrooms. This could take 1-2 business days depending on the software.
3. Software is only pushed to classrooms during the night between 1-5am. This is due to the size of software installations, as well as to not interrupt computer usage during class hours.
4. Demo or trial software cannot be installed on classroom computers.
5. Software that has been discontinued or is no longer supported by the maker will not be installed on any University owned computers.
